Description: This dataset contains major roads from the Florida Department of Transportation Roads Characteristics inventory (RCI) dataset. The dataset has been updated from the previous versions of FGDL. This data represents the information collected and reported as of the most recent inventory performed and may not reflect the current conditions.
Description: This dataset contains karst features derived from 1996 DEM. Karst is a type of topography that results from dissolution and collapse of carbonate rocks such as limestone and dolomite and characterized by closed depressions or sinkholes, caves, and underground drainage.
Description: This dataset contains Sensitive Karst Areas found within the Southwest Florida Water Management District. This is a subset of the data layer found on the map titled "Geologic Map of the State of Florida", created by the Department of Environmental Protection . This data layer is a reselection of the formation types that were determined to be "Sensitive Karst Areas". Karst is a terrain with distinctive landforms and hydrology created from the dissolution of soluble rocks, principally limestone and dolomite. Karst terrain is characterized by springs, caves, sinkholes, and a unique hydrogeology that results in aquifers that are highly productive but extremely vulnerable to contamination.
Description: This data set represents the prime farmland and farmland of unique and local importance based on the layer nrcs_soils. This layer is a spatial view and is created by the following sql query: FRMLNDCL = 'ALL AREAS ARE PRIME FARMLAND' OR FRMLNDCL = 'PRIME FARMLAND IF DRAINED AND EITHER PROTECTED FROM FLOODING OR NOT FREQUENTLY FLOODED DURING THE GROWING SEASON' OR FRMLNDCL = 'PRIME FARMLAND IF DRAINED' OR FRMLNDCL = 'FARMLAND OF LOCAL IMPORTANCE' OR FRMLNDCL = 'FARMLAND OF UNIQUE IMPORTANCE'
Description: This data set is a digital soil survey and generally is the most detailed level of soil geographic data developed by the National Cooperative Soil Survey. The information was prepared by digitizing maps, by compiling information onto a planimetric correct base and digitizing, or by revising digitized maps using remotely sensed and other information. This data set replaces the SSOILS data in previous versions of FGDL.

Description: This dataset contains generalized future land use information for the State of Florida. Future land use designates intended future land use types as defined by local government. Data used to create this statewide layer were obtained from various local government data sources in Florida. Detailed local future land use categories from the original source data were generalized to create statewide future land use categories based on an intermediate level of aggregation (Level 2). For source dates and inputs see metadata.
Description: This dataset contains generalized land use derived from 2022 parcel specific land use for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). The original 99 land use classes from the parcel data have been collapsed into 17 generalized classes. Please Note: As of 2015 there has been a change to the original FDOR 99 Land Use Values. Value 009 is now 'Residential Common Elements / Areas' this land use value maintains the same Generalized Land Use code 11 - RESIDENTIAL. Value 080 is now 'Vacant Governmental' this land use value does not maintain the same Generalized Land Use code 7 - OTHER, instead it is now classified as Generalized Land Use Code 8 - PUBLIC/SEMI-PUBLIC. Please Note: Previous versions of the LU_GEN dataset had a field called LANDUSE15, this field is now referred to as LUGEN_CODE. This layer is an update to the FGDL layer LU_GEN_2021.shp

Description: This dataset contains information about the FIRM Panel areas. The spatial entities representing FIRM panels are polygons. The polygon for the FIRM panel corresponds to the panel neatlines. Panel boundaries are generally derived from USGS DOQQ boundaries. As a result, the panels are generally rectangular. FIRM panels must not overlap or have gaps within a study. In situations where a portion of a panel lies outside the jurisdiction being mapped, the user must refer to the S_Pol_Ar table to determine the portion of the panel area where the FIRM Database shows the effective flood hazard data for the mapped jurisdiction. This information is needed for the FIRM Panel Index and the following tables in the FIS report: Listing of NFIP Jurisdictions, Levees, Incorporated Letters of Map Change, and Coastal Barrier Resources System Information. The Digital Flood Insurance Rate Map (DFIRM) Database depicts flood risk information and supporting data used to develop the risk data. The primary risk classifications used are the 1-percent-annual-chance flood event (100 year), the 0.2-percent-annual-chance flood event (500 year), and areas of minimal flood risk. The DFIRM Database is derived from Flood Insurance Studies (FISs), previously published Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs), flood hazard analyses performed in support of the FISs and FIRMs, and new mapping data, where available. The FISs and FIRMs are published by FEMA.
